Cora Ball

Removes plastic microfibres from your laundry, one of the largest sources of water-borne plastic.

An independent study on the effectiveness of the Cora Ball has recently been published. Summaries are available on or Ocean Conservancy, or to read the full study, take a look here.

Every time we do laundry, our clothes shed tiny, unseen microfibres (including plastic) which go down the drains of our washing machines and into our waterways, and most of us don’t even know it!

There’s plastic hiding in our waterways and ocean. That’s not great for the animals living in those waters, or for us.

The Cora Ball is a new kind of laundry ball. Inspired by the way coral filters the ocean, the Cora Ball collects our microfibres into fuzz we can see, so we can dispose of microfibers in the right way. Together, we keep these microfibres out of our waterways and our ocean.

Just toss it in the machine with your wash. It's a simple step that has a big impact wash after wash and the Cora Ball is designed to last for years of use.

Important note: make sure first to separate any delicates or items with loose tassels or threads.

The amount of microfibre you will see in the Cora Ball will vary depending on a huge number of variables, we've counted at least 30. Among these are whether you use an upright or front loading machine, how much water you use in the wash, whether you use powder or liquid, if you use fabric conditioner, your spin speed (if you can, it helps to remove the Cora Ball before the spin), and not least whether or not your clothes are shedding microfibres!

The team at Cora Ball have a survey that they're using to collate data from users - if you have the time your input is extremely valuable. The survey is here:

Our incoming stock is the first that comes from the new colour stock, so you may have some green and yellow, some blue or a mixture of the two. This is due to the fact that the colour of the Cora Ball is determined by the available plastic colours in the recycling market.

Easy to use, easy to clean.

Please note that we cannot be held liable for clothes with loose tassels, threads, straps or fraying threads that get caught in the Cora Ball, nor for delicates, knits or fine fabrics. For that reason it is very important to make sure that you wash these items separately without the Cora Ball. Sorry, but for hygiene reasons we are unable to refund used Cora Balls.
